Most small business sites have no uptime monitoring. Owners find out they were offline when a customer mentions it days later. By then the search traffic and the calls are already gone.
An unpatched plugin gets exploited
The overwhelming majority of WordPress compromises come through outdated plugins and themes, not clever hacking. Cleanup after the fact costs far more than patching would have, and Google may flag the site in the meantime.
The backup was never tested
A backup nobody has restored is a hope, not a plan. We verify restores, because the moment you need one is the worst possible moment to discover it does not work.

Most of what a care plan protects you from traces back to one thing. A WordPress site runs on plugins and a theme, all written by other people, all updating on their own schedule. Any one of them can break the site or leave a door open, which is why patching them is a monthly job rather than a one-off.
We build new sites in Next.js now. There are no plugins to patch, no admin login to brute force, and nothing that updates itself overnight and takes your homepage down with it. Pages load fast, which both customers and search engines notice.
That does not mean you should rebuild. If your site works and earns its keep, maintaining it costs less than replacing it, and we will tell you so. But if you are paying month after month to patch the same recurring problems, a rebuild often costs less across two years than the maintenance it replaces. We will do that arithmetic with you honestly, including when it says stay put.

Do you only work with businesses in Birmingham?
Most of our care plan clients are in the Birmingham metro — Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Trussville, Pelham, Alabaster and Chelsea. The work itself is remote, so location is not a hard requirement. Being local means we can meet in person when it genuinely helps and that we understand the market you are selling into.
What does website maintenance actually cost?
Our plans are $79, $199 and $399 per month depending on how much hands-on time you need. The $79 plan keeps the site secure, backed up, monitored and current, with 30 minutes of edits. The $199 plan adds two hours of monthly changes, and the $399 plan is for businesses that want us acting as their web team. Anything beyond the included time is $150 an hour, quoted before we start.
Do I need a care plan if my site is on Squarespace or Wix?
Less urgently, yes. Hosted platforms handle their own security patching, so the risk of an exploited plugin largely goes away. What remains is the part most owners actually struggle with: someone to make the edits, keep the content accurate, watch that forms still deliver, and tell you when something breaks. If that is all you need, the Essential plan usually covers it.
What if my website was built by someone else?
That is the normal case. Most sites we maintain we did not build. We start with an audit of the hosting, the platform version, the plugin list, the backup situation and the DNS, then tell you honestly what shape it is in. Sometimes the answer is that the site is fine and just needs upkeep. Sometimes it needs work before a plan makes sense, and we will say so.
Should I rebuild instead of maintaining what I have?
Sometimes. Most of the recurring work on a WordPress site comes from its plugins and theme, which is a cost you carry every month. A modern rebuild in Next.js removes that surface entirely, so there is far less to patch and nothing for an attacker to walk through. But rebuilding is only worth it when the maintenance is genuinely painful or the site is holding the business back. If yours works and is not costing you much to keep, maintaining it is the cheaper answer and we will say so.
Can I cancel?
Yes, monthly plans are month to month. Annual billing saves about ten percent. There is a one-time $299 onboarding fee that covers the initial audit and setup, waived if you pay annually.
What happens if my site gets hacked while on a plan?
We handle the cleanup and restore from backup as part of the plan, not as a surprise invoice. That is most of the reason the plans exist — the monthly fee is cheaper for both of us than emergency work.
